JACK TURNER ARTWORKS
JACK TURNER is a self-taught, multi-faceted clay artist-musician from Chicago. I create several lines of stoneware pottery and am best known for whimsical sculpture: clay angels, clay cats and dogs, fish, egghead jars and nudes. Additional work includes painted stoneware, functional stoneware and four styles of Raku. Claywork began in 1976 and cross-training in other mediums keeps a fresh vision. Clayhand Gallery and Studio features art shows, raku workshops, tours and clay classes. All work is one-of-a-kind and made by the artist. Online purchases via email or at art fairs, shops and galleries in America.

MUSIC: In 2007, I wrote and recorded 30 songs. Listen to samples: EXTRAS menu above, then MUSIC. I play lead, rhythm and bass guitars, drums and keyboards.

This website is dedicated to the memory of Jack Turner (1953-2009) to share the beauty he created during his life as an artist. He passed away on July 12, 2009, after a long battle with cancer. We are most proud of his capacity to use different media in aesthetically pleasing ways and of how he shared his joy as a talented artist with others. In his memory, we, his family, hope that you will keep his spirit alive in the ways that you inspire and use art in your life. To quote Jack, “Art is Life and Life is taking a class without a teacher…but you are the teacher and student so do it well and do ART!”
